Delete your Pager9 account
Pager9 is operated by 9punk LLC · Applies to the Pager9 Android app and the web dashboard
You can delete your Pager9 account and all the data stored under it at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period, no backup, and no way to get it back.
There are three ways to do it. You do not need the Android app installed for the second or third.
Menu → Settings → Delete account
- Open Pager9 and tap the menu (☰) in the top-left corner.
- Choose Settings.
- Tap Delete account, then type your sign-in email to confirm.
- Re-authenticate with Google when asked, then tap Delete forever.
You are signed out the moment it completes.
The same path in the web dashboard
Go to app.pager9.dev, sign in with the Google account you used for Pager9, open the menu, choose Settings, then Delete account. This works with the app uninstalled.
Open the web dashboard →Ask us by email
Email contact@pager9.dev from the Google address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my Pager9 account". We reply to confirm it is really you, then delete the account. We complete email requests within 30 days, and usually much sooner. You can also use this route if you would rather not open the app at all.
Email a deletion request →Before you delete
- Cancel any Google Play subscription first. Deleting your Pager9 account does not cancel a subscription. Google is the seller, and it keeps renewing until you cancel it in the Play Store. Cancel there, then delete.
- Remove Pager9 from your computers yourself. Deleting the account erases everything on our side, but the agent hooks live in files on your machines and we cannot reach them. Run
pager9 uninstallon each computer you connected. The deletion dialog shows the exact command for your shell.
What is deleted
Everything stored under your account, immediately and recursively: sessions and turns, notification records, paired devices and push tokens, preferences, hook keys, your access record, your consent record, and rate-limit counters. Your sign-in identity is deleted too. We keep no backups and point-in-time recovery is disabled, so once the purge runs there is nothing left to restore.
What is kept, and why
Two things survive, and we would rather name them here than have you discover them.
- A tombstone. Your user ID and the fact and time of the deletion, with no personal information, so we can prove the deletion happened.
- Billing records, if you ever subscribed. One record per purchase, not stored under your account, kept for 180 days after the subscription finally ends and then reduced to a non-identifying stub. It exists so a subscription you are still paying for can be recognised if you come back, and so a refunded purchase cannot be redeemed twice. It holds no card number or billing address. The full reasoning is in the Privacy Policy, section 5.
Deleting some data without deleting the account
You can remove an individual phone under Devices in the app, and revoke or remove an individual computer's key from the web dashboard at app.pager9.dev. Session history cannot be deleted piecemeal, because your all-time stats are computed from it. For anything else, email contact@pager9.dev.
